The relationship between fossil fuels and climate change is much misunderstood. For some, the repetitiveness of the climate-change message is tiresome. Yet while the Earth has a natural rhythm, based on uncontrollable, millennia-spanning climatic and geological forces, the evidence of peer-reviewed scientific research is conclusive. Contradicting the arguments of the sceptics, the world’s climate has been decisively affected over the last 200 years by a rising global population, industrialisation, urbanisation and our apparently unquenchable thirst for fossil fuels-generated energy.

Low Carbon believes we must achieve a true low-carbon economy, meeting 2020 global emissions reduction targets and – hopefully – arresting climate change before the damage is irreversible. Investment in renewables is indispensible to this process.
