The Low Carbon fund management team is a highly experienced group of professionals with more than 90 years’ collective expertise in diversified infrastructure and investment. The team’s track record of joint delivery spans €20bn transactions across c. 24 investments in renewable energy. This includes managing £2b in Green Investment Bank (GIB) wind and waste to energy projects, as well as raising, deploying and managing the £1.1b GIB offshore wind fund.

With increasing EU interconnectivity and growing demand driven by supportive EU energy policy, the team sources large scale renewable energy projects in Europe and selected global markets. Central to this work is a focus on achieving the lowest cost of energy production for target projects located in high resource locations.

The team’s portfolio includes VLC Renewables Fund 1, a fund investing in European renewable energy generation projects. Formed in partnership with Vitol, one of the world’s largest energy companies, the fund invests in European renewable energy generation projects at various stages of the development cycle, including late-stage development, construction and operation. The Zaporizhia wind farm is the fund’s first investment.
