The proposed Parc Solar Traffwll development will have an export capacity of circa ~35MW of electricity. The clean energy generated will save approximately 7,840 tonnes of CO2 each year, the equivalent of taking more than 3,620 cars off the road. The proposed project site is split into a number of blocks around Llanfihangel-yn-Nhywyn and south/south west of Bryngwran. RAF Valley lies a little further to the south west of the site. Located in West Oxfordshire, Aurora Solar Farm will produce clean renewable electricity with a capacity of approximately 32MWp which could power just over 10,000 local homes. The electricity produced on this solar farm will be exported to the local distribution network (LDN) with surplus electricity being stored onsite in batteries, as well as charging at times of low demand and exporting power back onto the electricity grid at times of high demand or when solar irradiation is low. Drover’s Lane Solar Farm would be divided between two sites, on either side of the B4525, located between the villages of Greatworth and Helmdon. Whilst the final capacity of the proposal is yet to be determined, the proposed area is approximately 60 hectares (148 acres) in size.
