Low Carbon is a leading developer of large-scale energy storage projects. We were the only renewable energy company to successfully secure two contracts in the National Grid’s recent Enhanced Frequency Response (EFR) tender process. The two projects, one in Cleator (Cumbria) and the other in Glassenbury (Kent), have a total capacity of 50MW.

In 2019, Low Carbon and Gore Street agreed a 160MW battery storage deal for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with the projects anticipated to be operational by 2021.

With energy storage becoming an integral part of the UK and global power mix, Low Carbon is continuing to identify new projects and development partners to expand our pipeline capacity to help secure a future powered by renewable energy.

Below are some of our energy storage case studies.
