Over the last five years we have expanded our offer to become the only company in our sector to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ of sustainable office design, energy reduction and fit out. And now we are looking to expand our team through the position of Sustainability Manager.</p>
<p>The Sustainability Manager’s job is to lead the company’s sustainability, low carbon and energy efficiency initiatives nationwide. He or she is responsible for evolving, developing and delivering our sustainability/energy proposition. The aim of the role is to research, assess, procure and promote the delivery of current and emerging sustainability and energy-efficiency measures.</p>
<p>In our market there is ever-increasing interest from clients in environmental issues, particularly in the areas of carbon and energy reduction and <span class="caps">BREEAM</span>. The Sustainability Manager’s role is client facing, helping us to secure new business. He or she is then responsible for ensuring that client requirements are met. The successful candidate will also work closely with the board in promoting our environmental activities in all elements of our sales and marketing activities, representing the company in seminars and in the press.</p>
<p>The role also extends to Morgan Lovell’s staff and supply chain. The Sustainability Manager is responsible for continually driving the training and development of our client-facing staff in sustainability and energy efficiency. Likewise he or she is responsible for ensuring that our supply chain is also at the leading edge in these areas.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will have budget responsibility and will be able to demonstrate a suitable track record and the relevant qualifications.</p>
<p>3.Specific Duties</p>
<p>• Develop Morgan Lovell’s strategy on energy efficiency, office design, environmental sustainability and renewable energy. <br />
• Undertake appraisals and feasibility studies for low carbon energy systems and where necessary design and specification work.<br />
• Provide delivery of sustainable development, low carbon & renewable energy consultancy services / projects in office interiors.<br />
• Calculate potential energy savings for clients and translate into cost savings and payback times.<br />
• Analyse space, <span class="caps">SBEM</span> calculations and advise on energy saving technologies, renewables and metering.<br />
• Check and monitor <span class="caps">BREEAM</span> Assessments. <br />
• Ensure clients’ sustainability requirements, and sustainability best practice, are achieved.<br />
• Maintain awareness of developments within the sustainable development / renewable energy marketplace and identifying opportunities for business development.<br />
• ork with our supply chain to improve sustainability.<br />
• Raise the knowledge and understanding amongst ML staff of energy efficiency and sustainability.</p>
<p>4. Competencies</p>
<p>Essential:<br />
• Degree Qualified (Building Services, Environmental, Low Carbon or equivalent)<br />
• Proven skills in managing projects from inception to delivery <br />
• Understanding of the climate change agenda <br />
• Experience in a similar role <br />
• Property or construction or mechanical engineering background <br />
• Low carbon expertise</p>

• Energy Assessor (<span class="caps">EPC</span> & <span class="caps">DEC</span>)<br />
• <span class="caps">BREEAM</span> Assessor <br />
• Low Carbon Consultant <br />
• <span class="caps">MCIBSE</span></p>
