NaREC is developing a drive train testing facility for the offshore wind and renewables sector. This will be to perform accelerated fatigue and conformance testing of complete systems or the major components (gearboxes, generators, bearings) for up to 10MW wind turbines. We require a test manager with experience of the design and testing of large multi megawatt rotating equipment to fulfil a key role in our planned 15MW drive train test rig. Initially driving the design and development of the facility and then establishing it as a customer focused centre and service provider of UK offshore wind drive train research and development.

The Candidate:

• Will be an experienced, highly motivated and methodical self starter with drive and enthusiasm to achieve results
• Will have excellent customer communication and management skills
• Will have experience in managing and maintaining
• Complex data acquisition and storage systems
• Large power inverter sets
• Large complex rotating equipment
• Movement of heavy complex plant
• Will have a strong leadership qualities and a willingness to develop a team
• Strong health and safety awareness
