Ignite is an innovative training programme of practical seminars and interactive workshops with focus on the woodfuel supply chain. Ignite is designed for those wanting to know more about woodfuel and also to equip new and existing woodfuel businesses with the skills and knowledge required to meet the increasing demand from this growing market. All Ignite courses are run by approved instructors with technical expertise in the woodfuel sector.

This 3 day course is the UK's only accredited woodfuel supply chain training course and provides a comprehensive introduction to woodfuel production and essential background to the market.

Course Modules

1.Setting the Scene – Why chose woodfuel? Policies and incentives behind the current drive to make woodfuel a viable source of energy.
2.Woodfuel Resource – Potential sources of woodfuel, its differnt forms, production and harvesting.
3.Woodfuel Systems – An overview of woodfuel heating systems; the markets; the technology and an introduction to woodfuel economics. Half day site visit to a modern woodchip system.
4.Woodfuel Technology – Understanding the technology used in processing woodfuel and looking at the bigger picture of woodfuel supply – linking the product to the market.
5.Assessment – Lantra accredited qualification.
