For decades engineers all over the world have attempted to produce a clean synthetic gas from waste that can be deployed in gas engines, but until recently none had succeeded.
Advanced Plasma Power has achieved this breakthrough by creating its revolutionary Gasplasma process from tried and trusted technology, to produce truly renewable energy from waste with ultra-low emissions and residues.
An Advanced Plasma Power plant will take 100,000 tonnes a year of MSW or C&I to produce 60,000 tonnes of RDF for the Gasplasma feedstock, as well as extracting valuable recyclates from the waste stream.
After converting the RDF in a fluid bed gasifier into a dirty synthetic gas, this is passed through a plasma converter to polish the gas, rendering it suitable for use in gas engines. All chars from the gasifier are also passed through the plasma and melted into a glassy substance recognised as a recyclate called Plasmarok – a valuable high performance aggregate that is virtually inert and non-leachable. Because the residues are turned into Plasmarok, landfill diversion of feedstock is over 99%.
A 100 ,000 tpa plant will export 40,000 MW of electricity, enough for 9000 houses plus 97500 MW of heat for over 650 homes.
